Audio Return Channel (ARC) AV receivers
— the ability to use an HDMI cable to transfer the audio signal not only from the receiver to the TV (direct transmission), but also vice versa (reverse direction). This allows you to watch TV programs received by the TV tuner and output sound from them to the speakers of the speaker system through the receiver, without connecting an additional audio cable and without worrying about reconnecting. However to use the return audio channel, this feature must be supported not only by the receiver, but also by the TV.
