— devices equipped with mechanisms for horizontal movement along guide beams. The simplest version of such a mechanism is a manual carriage with two pairs of wheels; to move such a device, it must be pulled manually. In more advanced units (they are called hoists), the carriage is electrically driven.

In general, the advantages of such equipment are obvious: it allows not only to lift loads, but also to easily move them horizontally. On the other hand, a movable structure complicates and increases the cost of the entire device, for its use a guide beam is needed, and you can move only within this beam along a straight (at best, slightly curved) trajectory.
