— headphones support one of the versions of Bluetooth fourth generation (v4) — nowadays it can be version 4.0, 4.1 or 4.2.

For more information about Bluetooth in general, see "Connection Interface". As for Bluetooth v4, although this generation is not the newest, it provides quite advanced features. Here is a more detailed description of specific versions:

— 4.0. The first version of Bluetooth, in which three standards were actually combined: a classic connection and a high-speed channel (first introduced in versions 2.1 and 3.0, respectively) were supplemented with Bluetooth Low Energy, an energy-saving mode for small amounts of data. This allowed to optimize the use of the channel and battery consumption and at the same time increase the communication range.

— 4.1. One of the most important updates implemented in this version was the improvement of the noise immunity of Bluetooth devices when working near 4G LTE mobile communication modules.

— 4.2. A further development of the 4th generation of Bluetooth, introducing mostly general improvements in speed and security.
