It's easy to get confused in the assortment of Razer mice. Another thing is keyboards, where there is complete order and mutual understanding. The entire model range of the company is divided into four groups depending on the type of switches used. BlackWidow uses mechanical switches, Ornata uses mechanical-membrane switches, Cynosa uses membrane switches, and Huntsman uses optical-mechanical switches.

Unlike classical mechanical switches, optical mechanics uses an optical sensor to register a click. It is triggered when the light hits a special receiver, after which the keyboard controller interprets this as a key operation. Thanks to such a hybrid mechanism, these switches can boast of an extended service life (100 million clicks versus 30 – 60 million for "mechanics"), besides, they are easier to clean and they are not so afraid of spilled liquid. Combined with a polling frequency of up to 1000 Hz, Huntsman keyboards guarantee perfect control accuracy with incredibly low latency.

Despite the fact that Huntsman keyboards can be called newcomers to the Razer range, special attention was paid to this line. As a result, since 2018, half a dozen diverse modifications of the Huntsman have been on the market. The shortened variations are especially loved by the public: the tournament Huntsman TKL and the ultra-compact Huntsman Mini. The Huntsman Elite and Huntsman V2 Analog models with multimedia keys, macro blocks and the most convenient hand stands did not take off due to extremely high prices. The original Huntsman model seems to have lost its relevance and is quite rare on the market.
