Recently, more and more "chips" from the top smartphones of the past years have been found in inexpensive smartphones, and the struggle in the middle class is becoming more spectacular and inventive every year. This applies to both the exterior design and various technical capabilities such as reverse charging or liquid cooling of the processor. Now, for just a few hundred dollars, you can buy a smartphone with an excellent set of cameras, good performance and decent battery life.

It is this niche that Realme is striving to occupy with its numbered line of smartphones. Moreover, the brand's marketers do not suffer from excessive modesty, so they call smartphones like Realme 6 Pro and Realme 7 Pro the new flagships. For the Indian market, where they were first shown, these are, of course, flagships, but in European realities these are smartphones with a level above average. Such work out every penny, pleasantly surprise with attention to detail, but they do not reach the elite status in literally every discipline. Against the background of the tops from Samsung, Xiaomi and OnePlus, there are too many compromises in models like the Realme 6 Pro: displays are most often IPS, not Super AMOLED, processors are powerful, but not without excess, and plastic, not glass or metal, is most often used in the manufacture of the case.

At the same time, Realme is constantly playing with design, equipment and form factor, so almost all mid-range smartphones with a number in the name have some kind of zest. The Realme 6i is notable for a curious design from the Japanese Naoto Fukasawa, resembling a tile that was filled with a layer of glass. Realme 6 Pro was able to impose a worthy competition to the legion of medium-sized smartphones thanks to its equipment. And the Realme 7 Pro boasts a rare 65-watt charger that replenishes the smartphone's charge to 100% in just 34 minutes.

At the beginning of 2021, the line has more than a dozen models of different levels. The lower floor is inhabited by junior smartphones of the Realme 5 caliber, while on the upper floors there are those almost flagships like the Realme 7 Pro and Realme 8 Pro. Usually, each generation includes a regular smartphone, as well as Pro and Lite versions. The latter are marked with the letters "I" and "s" in the name. The price tags range from $200 to $400.
