The tire offers excellent winter weather traction and it is marked with the three mountain peak and snowflake symbol. The tire was made with a winter-focused compound and has a directional tread pattern. The high-void angled grooves disperse and evacuate water from below the tire footprint. The angled tread blocks promote additional biting edges for driving on ice-covered road surfaces. The special arrow-shapes center rib improves the model's handling. It maintains excellent road contact and, with it, the tire's center feel and steering responsiveness are increased. The tire is stabilized against the driving pressure, while its steering responsiveness becomes quick and precise. This optimized tread pattern also prevents irregular tread wear as it evenly distributes the driving pressure across the tread area. The General Altimax Arctic 12 is capable of high speed driving. Its internal structure features a polyester casing and two steel belts that reinforce the tire's durability and prevent it from deforming under the driving pressure affecting it. Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
