Body

Pistol body type. Under the body in this case means primarily a compartment for a tube with sealant.

Skeletal. A minimalistic case in the form of a characteristic frame — usually from two longitudinal rails and a ring in the front, against which the tube rests. Found exclusively in mechanical pistols (see "Type"). This design can significantly reduce the weight of the tool; at the same time, it is quite reliable and noticeably surpasses many semi-packaged solutions in this indicator (although it is somewhat inferior to closed ones). The main disadvantage of the "skeleton" can be called the impossibility of working with sealant in soft packaging.

Semi -hull. Cases in the form of a half cylinder: the upper part of such a cylinder is cut off, and the tuba is laid through this cutout. This design is simple and low cost; at the same time, semi-body pistols have a relatively short service life (especially with a small thickness of the body), and the tubes in them are prone to distortions. This option is worth paying attention to if you are looking for the most affordable tool for episodic work of a small volume.

Closed. Cases in the form of a closed cylinder are as strong and reliable as possible, moreover, this design allows the use of sealant not only in hard tubes, but also in soft packaging (however, this possibility still does not hurt to...be precise separately). Also note that it is the closed body that is considered optimal for pistols with a pneumatic drive (see "Type"). On the other hand, tools with such bodies are somewhat heavier and more expensive than half-body and skeletal structures.

Rod

The type of rod provided in the design of the gun.

The rod is the main working part of the tool — a rod with a piston at the end, which creates the necessary pressure on the tube. Stock types can be:

Round. A single round rod is the simplest and most inexpensive, but at the same time quite a practical option.

Round reinforced. Round stem (see above), having a reinforced design — usually double. This design increases weight and cost, but has a positive effect on reliability and service life, allowing you to work with fairly high forces.

Hexagonal. Hexagonal rods are considered somewhat stronger and more reliable than round ones.

Toothed. The toothed rod is a rail with teeth, for which the feed mechanism clings during operation. This option is considered optimal for battery pistols (see "Type"), although it is also found in mechanical ones. In the latter case, the toothed stem provides a number of advantages over the traditional round and hex: it reduces the likelihood of slippage when the lever is pressed, and the same portion of sealant is supplied with each press. The latter is especially important for large volumes of work, when it is necessary to evenly distribute a large amount of composition over a large area. On the other hand, mechanisms for a toothed rod are quite complex a...nd expensive, which is why this option is still quite rare in "mechanics".

Extrusion pressure

The extrusion pressure developed by the gun, in other words, the force with which the rod piston acts on the tube.

This parameter is indicated mainly for battery and pneumatic models (see "Type"), since in mechanical extrusion pressure will depend on the actual pressure on the piston, and it may be different. Anyway, the higher the developed pressure, the more efficiently the device will cope with its task; high extrusion force is especially important when working with thick, viscous formulations that are “reluctant” to extrude. The lowest value of this indicator is about 2800 – 2900 N, in the most powerful pistols it can exceed 7000 N.
