The Garmin Astro 220 is a GPS system that consists of a handheld GPS unit with a bright colour screen and a DC 20 wireless transmitter. To get started, you must take the Astro outdoors and then turn on the unit and transmitter to receive GPS satellite signals. Then attach the DC 20 sensor to your dog. You can use the included neoprene collar or attach the sensor to any other 1" thick collar. The system is ready to use — no additional settings are required.
Every 5 seconds, the DC 20 sensor attached to your dog's collar transmits the location, and you will see the current location of the dog, as well as all its movements on the map page of the portable navigator. The "Dog Tracker" page provides useful information: a compass showing your dog's location, as well as the current state of the dog (running, sitting, etc.). In addition, the GARMIN Astro device will warn you with a special sound signal that the dog has arrived at the specified point.
